Max in Microsoft Teams

The Max Scale app works with Microsoft Teams in two ways. Add it as a direct message to chat with Max about your projects one-on-one. Add it as a page in a channel or group chat so everyone there opens the same project where the conversation about it already happens. Use the direct message for your own work; add a page when a whole channel should share one project.

Chat with Max in a direct message

1. In Teams, open Apps and search for Max Scale (publisher Scale Company Oy). Click Add. If your organization restricts apps, ask your Teams administrator to allow it — see For administrators below.

2. Send Max any message. Max replies with Sign in to Scale Platform; sign in with your Scale Platform account.

3. Come back to the chat. Max replays your first message and answers it.

Add a project page to a channel or group chat

1. In a Teams channel or group chat, click + at the top of the tab bar, then search for and select Max Scale.

2. A configuration window opens inside Teams. Pick the project this page should show, then click Save.

3. The page appears as a new tab named Scale Platform — like Planner or Files, a Teams tab is named after the tool, and the channel name already says which project the work is about. Everyone in the channel or group chat can open it — each person signs in with their own Scale Platform account and sees the project through their own permissions, never those of whoever added the page.

4. To give the tab a different name, open its dropdown menu and choose Rename. To show another project, add the page again and pick a different one — a channel or group chat can carry as many project pages as it needs, each its own tab.

For administrators

Many organizations block third-party apps in Teams by default, so people can’t add Max Scale — as a direct message or as a page — until an administrator allows it. From the Microsoft Teams admin center, there are two ways to do that:

• Allow self-install. Under Teams apps → Manage apps, find Max Scale (publisher Scale Company Oy), confirm its status is Allowed and check its availability scope, then make sure the permission policy assigned to your users allows third-party apps.
• Pre-install for a group. Under Teams apps → Setup policies, add Max Scale to a policy’s installed apps (optionally pinned), then assign that policy to the group who should get it automatically.

Tenants on Microsoft’s unified app management may need no action at all — the app arrives unblocked and available to everyone by default.

Max in Teams sees exactly what your Scale Platform account sees. The app needs no Microsoft file permissions; reading OneDrive and SharePoint files is a separate connection, see Microsoft 365. If Max asks you to sign in again after a while, that is expected.
